Course Title:  Introduction to the Social Register of Mauritius (SRM)

Course Outline 

 

The Social Register of Mauritius (SRM), introduced in 2008, has been designed to become an exhaustive and centralized database of of all those requesting financial support.

This course serves as a prelude to officers who are directly involved in the actual implementation of the project and will also provide a general but adequate knowledge to other officers who deal with social exclusion.

 

 

 

Course Objectives 

 

The objectives of the course are to enable participants to:

  • Promote the understanding and awareness on the SRM project;
  • Understand its concepts and procedures to be able to address social exclusion and poverty alleviation;
  • Have an update on the current status of the SRM and the way forward for new schemes.

 

 

 

Learning Outcomes

 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the rationale behind the SRM project, and describe its objectives;
  • Have a bird's eyeview on the basic components of the SRM system and their functions;
  • Understand the registration procedures and how data is collected using the SRM questionnaire;
